In Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, at a session of the local city council, deputies decided to rename Mykhailo Vrubel Street in the Pidhirka district to Lubomyr Husar Street, Vikna reports.
It is reported that the street was supposed to be renamed by January 27, 2024, but it fell off the deputies' radar at that time. Later, a public organization approached the regional state administration regarding the renaming of Vrubel Street in Kalush.
The deputies conducted a survey among residents about the future name of the street. Three options were put to a vote: Lubomyr Husar, the Franco family, and Pavlo Skoropadskyi. 132 votes were in favor of naming the street after the UGCC Patriarch Lubomyr Husar. The deputies supported this decision.
As the UOJ reported, on February 26, the head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, announced the beginning of the beatification and canonization of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Lubomyr Husar.
