Baumeister: All silent while bishops being arrested and UOC temples seized

Ukrainian philosopher Andriy Baumeister responded to the discussion of his interview with the opposition Russian resource "Meduza" where he noted that the Ukraine which respects individuality and human dignity in its fight against totalitarian Russia would be stronger than the Ukraine which violates fundamental freedoms and human dignity.

According to him, total state control over almost all important spheres of public and cultural life began long before February 2022.

"Even the slogan 'Army, Language and Faith' is not a slogan for a democratic country. But running for president in 2014 with a focus on language and faith means already banking on division and enmity within society," the philosopher wrote on his Facebook page.

Analyzing the current situation in the country, he specifically said, "In Ukraine, metropolitans and bishops are being arrested, and monasteries and churches are being seized. Oh yes, I forgot. These are the 'wrong' Orthodox. These are 'Moscow priests' and 'Kremlin agents.' Well, in that case, it's allowed."

Baumeister also pointed out that "other Christians, brothers in faith, and Christian intellectuals modestly lower their eyes and pretend nothing is happening."

As previously reported by the UOC, the philosopher discussed how the authorities, by attacking the UOC, are creating internal division.
