On August 5, the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada completed its work on Bill 8371, which aims to ban the UOC, reports Apostrophe.

This was announced by Yevheniya Kravchuk, a member of the Servant of the People party and Deputy Chair of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, without revealing details of the document's revisions.

“Our committee is working. Meetings are ongoing. For example, we have revised Bill No. 8371 concerning the Russian Orthodox Church,” she stated.

As reported by the UOJ, the Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian Policy and MP from the Servant of the People party, Mykyta Poturaev, stated that DESS will not sue thousands of UOC communities simultaneously following the adoption of Bill 8371, which effectively bans the UOC.
