Lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman commented on his Telegram about the possibility of posting bail for Archpriest Serhiy Chertylin.
According to him, on August 6, "a court session was held at which the prosecution requested to extend Father Serhiy's detention for another 60 days."
"The process was complex and lengthy, starting with the recusal of Judge Kratko and being postponed three times. However, by God's grace, the court decided to set bail at over 5 million UAH," the lawyer said.
He noted that although "the amount is significant, it is already a major victory for the defense" because "once the bail is posted, Father Serhiy will be released."
"God is with us!" concluded lawyer Nikita Chekman.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Father Serhiy Chertylin would be released from the detention center on bail.
