On July 26, at a briefing for the central media in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, spoke about the miraculous icons that arrived in Kyiv to participate in the celebration of the Day of the Baptism of Rus, news.church.ua reports.

According to the UOC hierarch, the icons came from different regions of Ukraine – the Kasperovskaya Icon from Odessa, the Liubech Icon from the Chernihiv region, the Pochaev and Zimnenskaya Icons from the west of Ukraine.

The relics of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir will also take part in the procession.

“We are going to thank God for His mercy, the Holy Prince Vladimir, who ushered us to the Christian abode, we will pray for peace in our state, so that the war, discord will end, so that we, as a single nation, will work for the glory of our Motherland,” Metropolitan Anthony stressed.

The Chancellor of the UOC added that after the cross procession finishes, the miraculous shrines will be available throughout the night of July 27 in the church of Saints Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves until the start of the solemn Divine Liturgy on July 28.

On the night of the stay of the shrines in the Kyiv-Pechersk monastery, the night Divine Liturgy will be performed, during which the faithful will be able to receive the Sacraments of Confession and Communion.

As the UOJ previously reported, according to the UOC Chancellor, one must be prepared for possible provocations during the cross procession.
