New metropolitans and archbishops ordained in UOC

On August 17, 2024, during the feast of the Enthronement of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, a festive Divine Liturgy was held at the St. Agapit Church in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
During the service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry elevated two archbishops to the rank of metropolitans and four bishops to the rank of archbishops.
Additionally, three archbishops were granted the right to wear a second panagia.
The archbishops elevated to the rank of metropolitans were Archbishop Victor (Kotsaba) of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv and Archbishop Tikhon (Sofiichuk) of Romny and Buryin.
The bishops elevated to the rank of archbishops were: Bishop Simeon (Holubka), vicar of the Khust Diocese; Bishop Amvrosiy (Vainagiy), vicar of the Boryspil Diocese; Bishop Nikodim (Pustovgar), vicar of the Chernihiv Diocese; and Bishop Spiridon (Romanov), vicar of the Kyiv Metropolitanate.
The right to wear a second panagia was granted to Metropolitan Theodore (Hayun) of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Horodok, Metropolitan Meletiy (Yehorenko) of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, and Metropolitan Augustine (Markevych) of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav.
As reported previously, a new metropolitan had been ordained in the UOC.
