On August 20, 2024, while livestreaming from the Verkhovna Rada, MP Artem Dmytruk commented on the adoption of Draft Law 8371, stating that the Orthodox faith had been banned in our country.
According to him, the MPs "adopted a law banning the Orthodox faith in our country."
Dmytruk noted that this law was passed "without any discussion", and "the entire Rada is rejoicing."
He explained that "immediately after the Church was banned", a video of Ukrainian Olympians was shown in the Rada's session hall "to obscure what is happening... and to prevent the public from fully realizing what is actually happening."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Verkhovna Rada had passed Bill 8371 banning the UOC.
