On August 6, Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, during a live broadcast on the Facebook page of the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy, called for support of the "Miriane" (“Laity”) movement and blessed the head of NGO "Miriane" Office in the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy, Liubov Cherepakha.
“A public organization “Miriane” has appeared – these are people, parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. I would very much like such an organization to exist in our Zaporizhzhia Eparchy. I would like to introduce to you a person who does not need a special introduction – this is Liubov Aleksandrovna Cherepakha. She agreed to lead this movement in our region. I asked our priests to announce at their services to sign up and think together what we can do in defense of our Church, our Orthodox faith,” said Metropolitan Luke.
The archpastor stressed that the interested forces, including external ones, are ready to tear Ukraine apart and only the Church is capable of uniting the country.
As reported earlier, the NGO “Miriane” opened its representative offices in five regions.
