On August 8, 2021, in the village of Ludvishche of the Shumsk district, Ternopil region, the UOC temple of the Nativity of the Mother of God was consecrated. As reported by the press service of the Ternopil Eparchy, thanks to the financial support of the benefactor and philanthropist Andrey Biba, 94 days has passed since laying the foundation of the church to the first service in it.

The rite of consecration was performed by Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets.

During the festive divine service, the bishop was concelebrated by the priests of the eparchy and the clergy who arrived from different districts of the region.

The metropolitan brought from the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which participated in the cross procession.

Father Michael, the rector, said the words of gratitude to the philanthropist, who supported the UOC community to build a new church.

“Today is a joyful and festive Sunday in our village Ludvishche. A great event of the grace of God happened: the consecration of a newly built Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos took place. I as the rector of the church and the community would like to thank our benefactor, Andrei Vasilyevich, for his great help in the construction of the church,” the priest emphasized.

The previous church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Ludvishche was taken away by supporters of the OCU in 2019.
