On August 17, 2021, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus, congratulated the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on the 7th anniversary of his enthronement.
The Patriarch congratulated His Beatitude "on another anniversary of his succession to the ancient See of the Metropolitans of Kiev," and noted that Metropolitan Onuphry, by the counsel of the Holy Spirit and the election of the Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, was called to primatial ministry, associated with the hard work and great responsibility for the destiny of millions of Christians entrusted to his fatherly care.
“All these years, concordant with the will of God, you have been crushing the demons’ feeble attempts aimed at undermining church unity, fearlessly resisting various endeavors to change the canonical system that has developed over the centuries, tirelessly caring about the development of diocesan and parochial life, exhorting people to follow the gospel testaments,” wrote Patriarch Kirill.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church prayerfully wished Metropolitan Onuphry "fortitude and strength, abundant help from heaven and success in further zealous ministry for the glory of God and for the benefit of spiritual children seeking salvation."
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Primate of the UOC officiated the Vespers on the eve of the Day of his enthronement.
