Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal personally met Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, who arrived in Ukraine at the invitation of the authorities, at Boryspil airport. The head of the government reported this on his Telegram channel.

“I personally welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine,” wrote Shmyhal. The head of the government added that he considers Patriarch Bartholomew’s visit "symbolic and important for our country". He also thanked the Patriarch of Constantinople "for the support provided to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people by his All-Holiness".

As reported, Fr Alexander Klimenko believes that the head of the Phanar came to Ukraine as a politician since there is no Christian love in his visit.
