On 17 October 2024, Epifaniy Dumenko, the head of the OCU, met in his residence with the commander of the defense forces of Kyiv, Lieutenant General Volodymyr Kravchenko, reports the press service of the OCU.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Kravchenko presented Epifaniy with the medal "Defenders of Kyiv", an award that honors civilians for their contribution to the defence of the capital.

As reported earlier, in February 2022, sources close to the UOC-KP stated that upon learning that Russia had declared war on Ukraine, Dumenko immediately gathered his belongings, took them away, entered the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, took a photo with a candle and then left for Greece.
