On October 19, 2024, the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) posted a video on their Telegram channel showing the beating of Metropolitan Theodosiy by supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) during the seizure of the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Cherkasy.

The video shows several OCU supporters grabbing the bishop by his cassock while other raiders sprayed tear gas.

Following this, several individuals in camouflage uniforms with yellow armbands struck Metropolitan Theodosiy in the face.

One of the raiders also tore off the UOC hierarch’s mitre with a cross and threw it beyond the church fence.

In another video, it is shown that the Metropolitan was struck on the head with a stick.

Earlier, it was reported that UOJ followers shared footage of how church raiders seized the cathedral in Cherkasy.
