Primate of UOC appoints interim head of Rivne Eparchy

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine has appointed the vicar of the Rivne Eparchy, Bishop Pimen (Voyat) of the Rivne Eparchy as interim head of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC, reports the UOC Information and Educational Department.

The corresponding order of the Primate was issued in connection with the death of Metropolitan Bartholomew of Rivne and Ostroh, who reposed in the Lord on September 15, 2021.

The funeral service for the newly reposed bishop will take place on September 17, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. at the St. George Metochion of the Gorodok Nicholas Convent in Rivne. 

After the service, the coffin with the body of the newly reposed Metropolitan Bartholomew will be delivered to his homeland, the village of Gorodne of the Lyubomyl district, Volyn region, where he will be buried in accordance with his will.

As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Bartholomew (Vashchuk) departed to the Lord at the age of 68. In recent years, the hierarch was seriously ill but did not leave the church ministry. The bishop reposed peacefully, having communion of the Body and Blood of Christ.
