The judge once again did not agree on a date for the preparatory hearing with the defense in the case of the abbot of the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy.

This was reported by the monastery’s Telegram channel. The hearing scheduled for October 24 did not take place, and the bishop remains in custody. The next session is set for November 19.

Earlier, the defense submitted appeals against the decision of the Sloviansk City District Court to extend Metropolitan Arseniy's detention. However, the lawyers have not yet received official notification from the Dnipro Court of Appeal regarding the date of consideration for these appeals. It is expected that the hearing may take place on November 6.

Reports indicate that 11 members of parliament from various parties are prepared to testify in defense of the father superior of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

It is worth noting that Metropolitan Arseniy has been held in Dnipro Pretrial Detention Center since April 25, 2024. He continues to be detained despite the expiration of his arrest term.

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Arseniy gave an interview to a British media outlet about the persecution of the UOC.
