Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv told kozakTv1 journalists about how the supporters of OCU were looting St Michael's Cathedral after its seizure. He said that the intruders were primarily interested in the sacristy.
“They opened the mitres of the bishops. Since they did not understand them, they began to twist crosses from the mitres, including two mitres of Metropolitan Sophrony, from which the crosses were simply broken off, because apparently, they thought they were made of precious materials. This, by the way, is their respect for Metropolitan Sophrony. They twisted them, broke them off, stole panagias. What appeared to be silver or gold was grabbed. They don't know this is made of brass. It just looks solemn. Robbed the cathedral, looted the eparchy for 6 hours,” said the hierarch of the UOC.
As reported by the UOJ, the video of the OCU raiders breaking the cameras of the UOC temple of Cherkasy appeared online.
