The newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would “ask Congress to pass a bill establishing that the only genders recognized by the U.S. government are male and female, and they are assigned at birth.”
In a recent video address, Trump expressed opposition to gender ideology at the state level and aims to withdraw federal funding for any procedures related to gender transition. He also plans to issue an executive order halting all gender programs across federal agencies, banning them from promoting gender transition.
The future U.S. president urges Congress to pass a law to ensure taxpayers no longer fund gender procedures and surgeries. Additionally, Trump warned that hospitals providing "gender-affirming" care could be terminated from Medicaid and Medicare programs immediately.
As previously reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists, Trump conducted a poll on social media regarding a potential ban on LGBT symbols in schools.
