Following Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election, major US retail companies are scaling back their LGBT support programs, reports the Associated Press.

The outlet states that Walmart, the largest retail company in the US, is removing certain LGBT-related items from its website and shutting down a nonprofit organization that funded programs for sexual minorities.

"Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion policies, joining a growing list of major corporations that have done the same after coming under attack by conservative activists," writes the Associated Press.

Other companies, including Tractor Supply, Lowe’s, Ford, and Molson Coors, are also discontinuing their LGBT support programs.

"The changes come soon after an election win by former President Donald Trump, who has criticized DEI initiatives and surrounded himself with conservatives who hold similar views, including his former adviser Stephen Miller, who leads a group called America First Legal that has challenged corporate DEI policies," the publication claims.

Previously, it was reported that Trump plans to remove transgender individuals from the US military.
