On December 9, 2024, the 34th anniversary of his episcopal consecration, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, celebrated a festive liturgy at the St. Panteleimon Convent in Feofania, the UOC press service reported.

"Thirty-four years ago, on December 9, 1990, the future Primate of the UOC, then Archimandrite Onuphry (Berezovsky), was consecrated as Bishop of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna. Traditionally, on the day of His Beatitude’s episcopal consecration, the UOC hierarchs, clergy, and faithful pray with their Primate," the message reads.

The liturgy was concelebrated by permanent members of the UOC Holy Synod: Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovina, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, and Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, along with other metropolitans, archbishops, bishops, clergy from Kyiv, and guests from other dioceses.

Clergy and believers prayed for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, and God’s blessing for people of goodwill helping those in need. The Primate petitioned God for mercy upon the Ukrainian people, wisdom for authorities, courage for soldiers, freedom for captives, healing for the sick, and shelter for the homeless.

As reported by the UOJ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Rostislav of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia congratulated Metropolitan Onuphry on his episcopal consecration anniversary.
