The topic of primacy in the Church is today the most pressing issue, said the Exarch of Constantinople to Ukraine, the head of the stauropegion of the Phanar in Kyiv, Bishop Mikhail (Anishchenko).
The representative of the Church of Constantinople said this at an ecumenical conference in Kyiv, where the UGCC and the OCU discussed the ways to unity and the achievements of the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue over the past 40 years.
“The most pressing issue for both Orthodox Christians and Catholics today is the issue of serving the primacy in the Ecumenical Church,” said Bishop of Comana.
According to the Phanar Exarch to Ukraine, the "extremely important" Orthodox-Catholic dialogue "revives intra-Orthodox theological thought" and forces us to rethink the theological heritage.
