On December 16, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Epifaniy Dumenko, led a "liturgy" in the Papal Basilica of Saint Nicholas in Bari. This was announced on Facebook by Ukraine's ambassador to the Vatican, Andriy Yurash.
The basilica has housed the relics of one of the most venerated Orthodox saints, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, for 937 years.
As the UOJ previously reported, during his visit to the Vatican, Dumenko discussed the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the head of the Papal Council.
