Clergy from the Kyiv and Bila Tserkva dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) have carried out another spiritual and humanitarian mission in the combat zone in eastern Ukraine, reports kapelan.in.ua.
The mission was conducted as part of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession, which began this spring with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry and under the coordination of Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav, Chairman of the UOC Synodal Military Department.
With prayers and sacred items, the clergy visited three Lavras and most dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Additionally, several extra spiritual and humanitarian missions to the combat zone were organized throughout 2024.
"Our defenders were able to venerate and pray before the icons of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, which contains a fragment of Her life-worn omophorion (head covering), and of Saint Nicholas, which holds a relic of his holy remains," the report states.
The Cross Procession concluded at the ancient Brailiv Monastery, where, with the blessing of Metropolitan Varsonofiy of Vinnytsia and Bar, the clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy, praying for the defenders and for peace on Ukrainian soil.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Kyiv Eparchy delivered humanitarian aid to frontline areas.
