In Cherkasy, Mayor Anatoliy Bondarenko was awarded the Order of Saint Archangel Michael, First Class, by the OCU. He shared this news on his Facebook page.
The award was presented to Bondarenko by "Metropolitan" Ivan of Cherkasy and Chyhyryn at the Holy Archangel Michael Cathedral.
Previously, Bondarenko received the Order of Saint George the Victory-Bearer from the same representative of Dumenko's structure. It was reported that the mayor was recognized for his services to the OCU.
As the UOJ previously reported, in December 2024, the mayor of Cherkasy called on the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to take harsher measures against the UOC.
