On December 26, 2024, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, visited a Kyiv synagogue. Together with Ukraine's Chief Rabbi and Israel's ambassador, they lit the second Hanukkah candle, as announced by Moshe Reuven Asman on Facebook.

"The ceremony took place as part of our annual warm Hanukkah evening, which this year was named 'The Light of Hope.' This light will symbolize our shared faith in the victory of good over evil," the rabbi assured readers.

It’s worth noting that Klitschko previously lit the largest menorah in Europe on Maidan Square. Earlier, the UOJ reported that the head of Military Intelligence lit a menorah made from missile fragments at the center of the Jewish community.
