The Rivne Diocese held a charity concert to support children with cancer, raising 120,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
On January 12, 2025, a charity concert titled "The Light of Christmas: With Warmth in the Heart" took place at the Textile Workers’ City House of Culture in Rivne. The event was organized by the Rivne Diocese with the blessing of Archbishop Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh. Its goal was to raise funds to support three children with cancer: Adam Tymoshchuk, Valerii Zhylev, and Adelina Andriievska, who are undergoing treatment at a pediatric oncology hospital.
The hall was full, and 14 groups performed on stage, including choirs and ensembles from Sunday schools, clergy groups, and priests' families. The warm, family-like atmosphere created a sense of spiritual joy and unity.
The concert was hosted by Archbishop Pimen and Matrona Valentyna Ilina, who helped maintain the festive spirit of the event. Nearly 120,000 hryvnias were raised through ticket sales and audience donations. The funds will be directed toward helping children in the pediatric onco-hematology department.
The diocese expressed gratitude to everyone who supported this noble cause.
As previously reported, the Rivne Diocese held a "Bible Experts" competition.
