Metropolitan Dionysios of Zakynthos of the Greek Orthodox Church suspends 14 priests of his metropolitan district, who were not vaccinated against Covid-19, from ministry, according to Orthodoxia.info.
Metropolitan Dionysios decided to remove priests who have decided not to get vaccinated against Covid-19, although so far, according to journalists from Orthodoxoxia.info, the question of mandatory vaccination of clergy has not been raised.
At the same time, a group of Zakynthos believers scattered leaflets in the streets of the island with the text against the decision of the metropolitan.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Metropolitan Chrysostomos (Avayanos) of Eleftheroupolis of the Hellenic Orthodox Church sent a circular letter to the priests of his diocese, in which he obliged each clergyman to get vaccinated against Covid within one week.
