The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a bill amending the Code of Administrative Offenses, which proposes to introduce fines for the promotion of pedophilia, homosexuality and transgenderism.

The draft law "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for Liability for Promoting Deviations from the Constitutional Norms of the Family, Childhood, Motherhood and Fatherhood" was submitted by four deputies from the "Servant of the People" party and one "For the Future". It provides for fines ranging from 17 thousand to 85 thousand hryvnias. The initiators of the bill are MPs from the "Servant of the People" Artem Kultenko, Georgy Mazurashu, Anatoly Drabovsky, Sergei Kuzminykh, as well as Viktor Mialik from the deputy group "For the Future".

The explanatory note to the bill states that the promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism poses a real threat to Ukraine's national security, as it leads to the HIV / AIDS epidemic, irreversible human disability ("transgender transition"), violation of the right to freedom of speech and religion, research, the destruction of the family, the demographic crisis.

In addition, the propaganda of these immoral deviations makes it impossible to raise children in the constitutional vein, which violates the rights of children and their parents. "Therefore, the propaganda of homosexuality and transgenderism is no less dangerous than the propaganda of communism and fascism. Propaganda of communism and fascism is already banned in Ukraine. The introduction of administrative liability for the promotion of pedophilia, homosexuality and transgenderism is an important step in Ukrainian society," the bill said.

It should be noted that in 2020 the Verkhovna Rada registered the draft Law "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for Liability for the Promotion of Homosexuality and Transgenderism", but it was removed from consideration.

As reported by the UOJ, the Verkhovna Rada will toughen the punishment for violating the rights of LGBT and transgender people.
