Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia Visits Jerusalem

The visit follows Patriarch Porfirije’s request to make a pilgrimage to the Most Holy Sepulchre of our Lord and meet with his Jerusalem counterpart.

In response, Patriarch Theophilos III warmly invited him, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the Holy Land and the shared faith between their Churches.

The Serbian Patriarch received a warm greeting from Pat. Theophilos, who celebrated his names-day just two days prior. The two exchanged gifts and held discussions—the contents of which are not known.

Patriarch Porfirije’s pilgrimage highlights the deep ties between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and is a beautiful expression of Orthodox unity.
