Elder Dositheus: Christ Elevated Met. Tychikos of Paphos, Not Man.

MAY 25, 2025—In a video uploaded to Facebook, the revered Greek elder expresses his disappointment in Abp. Georgios of Cyprus decision to remove Met. Tychikos of Paphos, calling it a knife to the heart of our Church.

"They've nearly removed this holy bishop of Paphos, Tychikos, from his position. It's a knife to the heart of the Church."

The renowned elder says that "ecumenists, the Godless, and Freemasons," have been able to strike the Church because "this man calling himself a bishop has no fear of God." Whether or not the elder is speaking of Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus, or Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople remains unclear.

"The one who should have been praised as the pride of our Church, they've lowered from where Christ placed him; you didn't put him there, you wretch! You worthless bishop!"

The elder makes clear his continued support for the former Metropolitan, and reminds viewers that God will not be mocked:

"But the spiritual laws will take effect. You won't get away with this, just like others before you didn't escape: Archbishops, Patriarchs, and many others, the spiritual laws took effect. The same will happen to you if you don't repent, because this man in the hearts of true Christians, is a holy bishop and will remain so—no matter what you do you Godless one!"

"We send our warmest wishes, love, and greetings, to this holy man, Bishop Tychikos. We tell him with all our hearts that we love him, and that for the Church and us Orthodox, he is where our Church placed him."

UOJ-America previously reported on the deposition of Met. Tychikos of Paphos, and the rallying of the faithful around the deposed Metropolitan amid reports of the action being ordered by Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.
