MIAMI, FL—Bishop Nicholas of the Antiochian Diocese of Miami and the Southeast (DOMSE) announced he had undergone a small heart procedure during an unscheduled appointment.
Calling the operation "a bit of 'preventive maintenance' on my heart," he thanked God for the skilled physicians who ensured the operation went smoothly. Bsp. Nicholas mentions that the recovery will be relatively short, measured in weeks instead of months.
"During this brief period of convalescence, I will remain spiritually present and in touch with diocesan life—simply at a lower speed for a little while. I will remain attuned to all the news of God’s work among His people in DOMSE, which will be welcome company on the road to my full recovery.
The Apostle exhorts us: 'Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.' (Gal 6:2) Your prayers now help to bear mine. Be assured that, once the stitches are out and the blessed nurses have released me from their watchful custody, I shall be back to sharing yours with renewed zeal—and, I trust, an even steadier heartbeat."
We wish His Grace a speedy recover as he continues the work of spreading the Gospel in Florida and throughout the Southeast, and ask readers to remember Bsp. Nicholas in their prayers.
