BRATISLAVA — Robert Fico, Prime Minister of Slovakia, recently told local media, "the Slovak Constitution should state that there are only two sexes—male and female."

“What’s wrong with that? What contradicts common sense? If someone wants to feel like a lamp, or a chair, or a helicopter, or a dog—let them feel that way. But in the constitution, we will recognize only two sexes—male and female,” said the Prime Minister.

Robert Fico also noted that there had never previously been a need to include such a provision in the country’s fundamental law.

“Today, it seems we live in such a crazy time that we need to add to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic that one plus one equals two, and it is for this reason that such a serious amendment to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic has appeared,” Fico stated.
