The editorial team at Orthodox Times reported that one of the website’s most widely read articles, titled “What Sources from the Phanar and Kyiv Are Telling Orthodox Times About the Situation in Ukraine,” triggered a negative reaction from Metropolitan Emmanuel, who was one of the central figures discussed in the piece. He demanded that the article be taken down.
Orthodox Times refused to comply with the demand, stating that their sources are reliable, verified, and continue to provide new information on developments in Ukraine.
The article in question claimed that Metropolitan Emmanuel was filtering all information regarding Ukraine before it reached Patriarch Bartholomew.
“Any information reaching the Phanar is only what Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon wants and allows to be transmitted. He maintains a close relationship with Metropolitan Yevstraty in Ukraine, and they support each other’s positions for their own reasons. Both are responsible for the current state of the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine. At the Phanar, everything related to Ukraine goes through Emmanuel. And anyone who dares to speak out on this issue is sidelined. Emmanuel accuses them—and that’s the end of it,” the sources alleged.
UOJ-America has previously reported on the troubling behavior and rhetoric of Met. Emmanuel.
