Catholic Apologist Breaks Silence on Serious Allegations Made in July

AUG. 18, 2025 — In a video on his YouTube channel titled, "Breaking my silence," Catholic apologist Alex Jurado, more commonly known as Voice of Reason, spoke at length for the first time following serious allegations that were made against him last month.
The allegations included inappropriate messages exchanged with a minor roughly a decade ago when Jurado was serving as a parish catechist, and other explicit messages that were shared with various women.
Beginning his YouTube address by saying that this was his first time in front of a camera in a month, Jurado reaffirmed his previous statement that the alleged grooming of a minor is false, and that he wanted to come out with a video earlier but had to get law enforcement and lawyers involved in the situation.
"I just want everyone to know that this very serious allegation is false," he said. "I want to apologize to everybody who for the last month have been so scandalized by it."
After starting with the allegation he declared as false, he moved onto the other private messages of a sexual nature that took place with adult women and were leaked.
"I want everyone to know that... those messages were not to a minor," he said. "These messages were to grown adult women. Even though that isn't illegal or criminal, it's still something that needs to be addressed."
Saying that on multiple occasions he fell into sin and gave into the "desires of the flesh," Jurado stated his regret for what he called "moments of weakness."
"God blessed me with the opportunity to do a lot of good... I've misused the platform that He allowed me to have," he said. "I misused it to gratify the desires of the flesh, and I'm sorry."
Jurado also noted several changes he has made to his life - one being a recommendation from his spiritual father to go to therapy that he had previously ignored, and another being the cultivation of a prayer life that he said he used to have.
Saying that he is now on the path that he should have been on - "the path of virtue" - Jurado closed the video with a prayer of surrender.
