"Museum" Staff Desecrating Relics of the Kyiv Caves (+VIDEO)
KYIV PECHERSK — Video emerged on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, which shows museum staff in plain clothes brining full body reliquaries out from the caves and into the garden. In addition to exposing the relics to the open air (unthinkable even by modern archeological norms), staff can be seen digging around the coffins.
Empty reliquaries and bottles of cleaning solutions were photographed at the entrance to the caves themselves, while nearby the reliquaries in the garden, several objects were hung on the fence. Whether these are vestments or other sacred objects related to the saints remains to be determined.
In March 2025, UOJ-America reported on reported on the commission established for the study of the relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra being staffed primarily by veterinarians, anatomists, and biologists.
