SANTA CLARITA, CA — Faithtree Resources, an Orthodox non-profit based in California that is dedicated to creating resources that help Orthodox Christian churches, leaders and people, has dedicated this year to a new Orthodox Christian Parenting Initiative.
The initiative will offer practical tools and encouragement for families, and through the generosity of donors, the new "Orthodox Christian Parenting Podcast" has been launched as well as the release of new resources designed for parents and grandparents, according to a release from the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.
Michelle Moujaes, who serves as Executive Director of Faithtree Resources, hosts the new podcast, which will offer wisdom from the Church and insights from special guests. One such guest that has been on the show already is Dr. Philip Mamalakis, author of "Parenting Toward the Kingdom" and Associate Professor of Pastoral Care at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
There is a free weekly discussion guide for parents and grandparents that is also being offered, which "provides key takeaways, reflection questions, and practical suggestions to put the episode into practice."
"Our hope is to meet parents right where they are," Moujaes said. "Moms and dads often feel overwhelmed and unsure how to guide their children in the life of the Church. We want them to know they are not alone – the wisdom of the Church is here to equip and encourage them as they take the next faithful step in parenting."
Two new e-books – "10 Things Every Orthodox Parent Should Know" and "Navigating the Digital Tsunami: Orthodox Strategies for Protecting Your Children" – have also been released.
