Met. Saba: Nativity Calls Faithful to Live the Incarnation Daily

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Met. Saba of New York and All North America issued his Nativity message for 2025, calling the faithful to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ’s Incarnation and to live its meaning daily. Addressing the bishops, clergy, and faithful of the archdiocese, he emphasized that the feast of the Nativity is not merely a commemoration of Christ’s birth, but a celebration of Emmanuel—“God with us”—who dwells among humanity for its salvation.
Met. Saba urged believers to move beyond outward festal expressions and allow the incarnate Word to transform their lives, leading them to the “abundant life” promised by Christ. Drawing on the writings of French Orthodox theologian Olivier Clément, he reflected on the Nativity as a revolution of divine love, revealing the power of humility, weakness, and self-giving love.
Concluding his message, Met. Saba prayed that Christ’s abiding presence would sanctify the lives of the faithful and illuminate the world with hope, consolation, and unending light.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Met. Saba led members of the Antiochian Archdiocese Board of Trustees and their spouses on a deeply spiritual pilgrimage throughout Lebanon.
