ROC Exarch for Africa on "pentarchy”: Meeting of Greeks in a narrow circle
Metropolitan Leonid of Klin stated that only Greek primates can take part in the meeting of the Primates of the five Churches, initiated by Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria on the creation of the Patriarchal Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, which is going to completely discredit the participants in this process. He wrote about this in his telegram channel.
The Patriarchal Exarch for Africa expressed doubt that the Primates of the Antioch and Jerusalem Patriarchates would accept Patriarch Bartholomew’s invitation, who might try to convene a meeting of the “pentarchy”.
“Of course, I cannot sign for the Primates of the Antioch and Jerusalem Churches, but I do not think that these two pillars of the Church will take part in this “council”. I think that the maximum that today's defendants in this process can achieve is a trio: Hellas, Phanar and Alexandria, which will finally and irrevocably discredit them in the eyes of Universal Orthodoxy,” said Metropolitan Leonid.
As the UOJ reported, the Patriarchate of Alexandria sent a delegation and a letter to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople with a call to convene a meeting of the Primates of five Churches regarding the establishment of the Patriarchal Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa.
