“Beacons of Piety”: OCU publishes a book with Dumenko surrounded by saints
“Archpriest” of the OCU Vitaly Klos published the book “Beacons of Piety of the Kyiv St. Michael Golden-Domed Monastery”, on the cover of which Epifaniy Dumenko is featured in the center and surrounded by the deceased saints. The photograph of the book was published on the Facebook page of supporters of the UOC-KP “For the Ukrainian Church”.
The cover depicts Saint Michael, the first Metropolitan of Kiev; Metropolitan Job (Boretsky) of Kiev, Exarch of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, who was “canonized” by the UOC-KP in 2008; Metropolitan Varlaam (Yasinsky) of Kiev, Galicia and All Lesser Russia; Bishop Irenaeus (Falkovsky) of the Russian Orthodox Church; Bishop Zakharia (Kornilovich) of the Russian Orthodox Church; Archimandrite Meletius (Dzik).
It is noteworthy that the photo of the head of the OCU is placed in the center of the cover and appears far more sizable against the background of the other images of the deceased saints.
On the Web, a lot of users wondered if this was a real publication, not a fake. For example, Archpriest of the UOC Alexander Klimenko posted a photo of the book on his Fb page with a similar question to his readers.
In his comments, the priest said that he had contacted the author and received a reply from him. “This is a real book and a real cover. So, the whole discussion was not started in vain. I still hoped that the cover of the book was ‘corrected’ and such a book does not actually exist,” said the priest of the UOC.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that OCU “Metropolitan” Mikhail Zinkevich told why there is no Dumenko’s portrait in his office.
