New York Cathedral to Host Ecumenical Prayer Service for Christian Unity

NEW YORK — The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, in collaboration with its Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, has announced an Ecumenical Prayer Service marking the 58th Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

With the blessing of Abp. Elpidophoros of America, the service will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Christian leaders and faithful from across the New York metropolitan area are expected to gather in prayer, reflecting on the shared hope of unity in Christ, as expressed in Ephesians 4:4.

This year’s observance will also honor the liturgical and spiritual traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church. A light reception will follow the service in Chiotes Hall, offering participants an opportunity for fellowship and continued dialogue.
