Delegation of UOC meets with the Primate of OCA in the USA
On February 9, 2022, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the UOC delegation met with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Archbishop Tikhon of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, reports the Synodal Information and Education Department of the UOC.
The delegation of the UOC included Bishop Victor of Baryshivka, the head of the Representation of the UOC to European International Organizations, Bishop Dionysiy of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky, the secretary of the Kyiv Eparchy, Archpriest Vlaimir Tereshchuk, the dean of the Obolon district, and Archimandrite Dosifei (Mikhailiuk), the dean of the academic church of the Kyiv theological schools.
The Primate of the OCA received the delegation at his residence in New York, where the participants of the meeting revered the relics of the saints in the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh. On behalf of His Beatitude Onuphry, Bishop Victor thanked His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon for his continuous support of the UOC.
He also told the Primate of the OCA about the current situation of the UOC and the state of church-state relations in Ukraine. In addition, Vladyka Victor conveyed an invitation from His Beatitude Onuphry to Metropolitan Tikhon to visit the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at any time convenient for him.
As the UOJ reported, the Primate of the OCA congratulated His Beatitude Onuphry on the anniversary of his enthronement.
