SOUTH CANAAN, PA — St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary has announced a June 2026 pilgrimage dedicated to the life, ministry, and legacy of St. Nikolai Velimirović, one of the most influential Orthodox theologians and spiritual leaders of the twentieth century.

Led by Abp. Michael, Rector of St. Tikhon’s Seminary, and Dean Fr. John Parker, the pilgrimage will take place June 2–13 and is limited to 25–35 participants. The journey will trace St. Nikolai’s life across Serbia, North Macedonia, and Kosovo, regions central to his pastoral, episcopal, and theological work.

Pilgrims will visit historic monasteries including Dečani, Gračanica, and the Patriarchate of Peć, encountering the spiritual landscape that shaped St. Nikolai’s vision and witness. Often called the “New Chrysostom,” St. Nikolai combined prolific theological writing with preaching, teaching, and personal suffering.

The pilgrimage is sponsored by St. Tikhon’s Seminary, where St. Nikolai served as professor and rector during his final years in the United States. Registration for the event can be found here

Previously, the UOJ reported that the community of St. Tikhon's Seminary had celebrated the feast of St. Nicholas.
