YONKERS, NY — His Beatitude Metr. Tikhon visited St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary on January 29–30 for the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, the patronal feast of the seminary chapel. During the visit, he presided over festal liturgical services, chaired a meeting of the seminary’s Board of Trustees, and participated in academic and community events marking the celebration.
On Thursday evening, Metr. Tikhon led the festal Vigil with several hierarchs and clergy concelebrating, including bishops from the Orthodox Church in America, the Antiochian Archdiocese, and other Orthodox jurisdictions. Seminary choirs provided the liturgical responses, and Bp. Vasily of San Francisco served the Litya.
The Divine Liturgy on Friday brought together hierarchs, clergy, seminarians, and faithful from across jurisdictions. Metr. Tikhon addressed the community with a primatial blessing, while the visit concluded with the 43rd Annual Alexander Schmemann Memorial Lecture delivered by Archpriest Andrew Louth.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Bp. Vasily returned to St. Vladimir's Seminary and blessed new icons.
