The head of Phanar scares with World War III to begin with Ukraine
On February 13, 2022, in his homily addressed to the parishioners of the Cathedral of St. George (Istanbul), Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople spoke about the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border, romfea.gr reports.
He stated that the growing tension between the two states might lead to the outbreak of war with unpredictable consequences. Bartholomew also voiced fears that this war could escalate into a third world war with millions of victims.
In his appeal, the head of Phanar quoted Pope Francis, who called the war in Ukraine insanity. The words that we are all "doomed" to living in a world, which we are destined to fight for and defend, were ambiguous. He also stressed that the rhetoric of a dangerous escalation is hanging heavily and ominously over the Ukrainian people.
As previously reported by the UOJ, Bartholomew called the "war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation" a memory pill.
