SPRINGFIELD, VA — On May 4, 2026, His Beatitude Metr. Tikhon met with Dcn. Marek Simon, Executive Director of Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), and Andrew Boyd, Chairman of the OCF Board, at the temporary Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino, Chancellor of the OCA, also attended the meeting.
During the visit, OCF leadership provided updates on the ministry’s continued growth across the United States, including the development of new campus chapters and the strengthening of existing communities serving Orthodox college students. They highlighted ongoing efforts to expand engagement and deepen connections between students and local parishes.
Particular attention was given to the Campus Missionary Initiative, which supports trained missionaries serving on college campuses, as well as the upcoming Real Break 2026 pilgrimage to Georgia, led by Bp. Gerasim of Fort Worth. Metr. Tikhon expressed appreciation for OCF’s work in fostering Orthodox faith among young adults.
Previously, the UOJ reported that the OCA marked the 250th anniversary of the United States.
