Tennessee Parish Launches Urgent Fundraiser for Mission Church
A growing Franklin parish and its new mission are rallying support to secure a permanent church home.
FRANKLIN, TN — St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin has announced plans to establish a new mission church outside Nashville, citing rapid parish growth and an urgent opportunity to expand. The community described itself as “bursting at the seams,” emphasizing a sense of spiritual vitality and momentum.
Leaders stated that a building has already been identified and that the timeline to secure it is urgent, calling on supporters to contribute financially to make the project possible. The mission operates as a daughter community of St. Ignatius under the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America and aims to serve Franklin and Williamson County.
“We need to raise a significant amount of capital quickly to make this happen — and we’re asking our extended St. Ignatius family, near and far, to help us answer this call,” the appeal states. Donations are being accepted online through St. Ignatius, which has served the area since its founding in 1987 and construction of its current church in 2012.
Previously, the UOJ reported that the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago purchased permanent offices.
