Pope to “consecrate” RF and Ukraine to a holiday based on Catholic heresy
On March 25, the Pope intends to consecrate Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary. Catholic bishops from all over the world have already announced that they will respond to his call to join the consecration. This is reported by the Catholic portal CREDO.
The event will be dedicated to uniting the world around Ukraine, refugees, wounded and killed in the war, as well as "reconciliation of the two sides."
In turn, in an interview with the Catholic News Service, ROCOR nun Vassa Larina explained that it is impossible to “consecrate” without the express consent of the “initiates”, according to N.945 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
“The special ‘holiness’ of the “Immaculate Heart of Mary” is not the one that Orthodox Christians – most Christians in both Ukraine and Russia – would consecrate themselves to, because it is based on the Roman Catholic dogma of the Immaculate Conception, not accepted by the Orthodox Church,” said the nun.
The dogma of the Immaculate Conception, which affirms the absence of original sin in the Mother of God, is not recognized in Orthodoxy and is considered heresy.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Zelensky called on the Pope to mediate in negotiations with the Russian Federation.
