Filaret proposes to His Beatitude Onuphry to unite the UOC with schismatics

On June 20, 2022, Filaret Denisenko invited His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry to meet and discuss preparations for the All-Ukrainian Council, at which the “One Local Church” should be created. The text of the appeal was published in the Facebook group “For the Ukrainian Church”.

Filaret is convinced that the decision of the UOC Council of May 27, 2022 "opens up unique prospects for Orthodox unification."

The head of the UOC-KP proposes to convene a Council with the participation of representatives of the UOC-KP, the structure he leads, the UOC and the OCU.

“The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate will take part in such a unifying All-Ukrainian Orthodox Council to say to everyone: the Lord is among us!” Denisenko said.

Filaret called on His Beatitude Onuphry to meet "for a fraternal dialogue in the spirit of Christ's love in order to achieve spiritual unity."

As the UOJ wrote, on the same day, the head of the UOC-KP addressed Vladimir Zelensky, offering him to become the unifier of Ukrainian Orthodoxy.

At the end of February, Filaret already came up with a proposal to create a single local Church in Ukraine.
