From December 2022, Baptists in Ukraine to switch to Gregorian calendar
On 23 June 2022, the Evangelical Christian-Baptist Council of the Baptist Church of Ukraine voted to change the calendar to the Gregorian version as of December 2022, reports Pastor Mykola Romaniuk on his website.
The Roman Catholic and Reformed Churches have already converted to the Gregorian calendar. The state contributed to this by making December 25 a day off to celebrate Christmas according to the new style.
Those evangelical Christian communities that have not yet switched to the Gregorian calendar will be able to gradually get used to the new calendar by celebrating the main Christian holidays twice, Romaniuk said.
As reported, Lviv Region deputies called on the synods of the OCU and the UGCC to switch to the Gregorian calendar.
