OCU defrocks two "bishops" of UOC-KP

On July 27, 2022, the "Holy Synod" of the OCU defrocked the "bishops" of the UOC-KP, the official website of the Dumenko structure reports.

We are talking about the “bishop” of Vasylkiv UOC-KP Andrey Marutsak and the “bishop” of Philadelphia Bogdan Zgoba.

The press service of the OCU states that “The Synod considered cases on charges of canonical violations, committed by Archimandrite Andrey (Marutsak) and Archpriest Bogdan Zgoba, who are banned from the priesthood, for which punishment is provided in the form of deprivation of the priesthood. The Synod found them guilty and deprived them of the priesthood.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the head of the UOC-KP Filaret, together with Joasaf Shibaev, “consecrated” “Archimandrite” Andrey Marutsak as the “bishop” of Vasylkiv. Later the UOC-KP announced the official registration of its vicariate in the United States.
