Patriarch Porfirije called His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry a zealous and self-sacrificing shepherd.
"You set an example of evangelical love for our Lord Jesus Christ, who is perfect peace and perfect love, and for the flock entrusted to you, who testify with their lives that no one will separate them from the Love of Christ. We pray to the Lord that you always abide in His gracious gifts, and that He strengthens you in good health for the jubilation of all of us and mostly of the pious clergy and the faithful flock of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," wrote the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
